I have lived a varied life, and I have learned from it that I create from an experiential mindset. Everything I’ve designed, every business I’ve built, every safari I’ve curated comes down to the embodied experience.

When I work with clay, I envision how the flower or branch will live in it.

When we were developing J Brand, I wasn’t thinking about trends—I was thinking about how women actually move through their days and how I could make it better for them.

My second company, CRIPPEN, taught me that even when you know what you want, trusting yourself is essential to any endeavor.

Meeting my husband and moving to Kenya deepened this philosophy and presented me with a life I had only dreamed of, because I trusted my gut and followed my heart.

Whether I was dreaming up the next great jean, am now sculpting a block of clay, or am curating a unique safari, I’m doing the same thing: translating the reality of how we experience life into experiences worth having.
